She worked passionately as an RN on HV6 at Miami Valley Hospital. Lauren was loved by everyone she met. Lauren’s mother, Sheryl, and Scott Gabbard adopted Lauren’s daughters, Alexa and Sienna. Over the years, he became very good at his craft and excelled at lyric writing and creating beats. He had a kind, fun-loving spirit and was always willing to help others. Later, she developed an infectious laugh and glowing spirit that left an imprint on everyone she met. Kara was a very giving and non-judgmental person, who became everyone's ""best friend“. Without a doubt, she is looking down on her recipients with a warm smile and much love for their families. She is proud that her own family has forged lifelong friendships with the recipients and their loved ones. Many have been blessed by her kind spirit of giving. Kara was fond of the beautiful peacock, and we now ""see"" her in the oddest of places! She would want everyone to know that her favorite scripture is Jer 29:11 – ""For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."" During her 10-year struggle with addiction, Ashley remained a loyal friend, compassionate listener and cheerleader for those she loved. Ashley was always on the lookout for opportunities to be of help. At 16, her thoughtful nature compelled her to sign up to be an organ donor. At 32, she fulfilled that wish, and three others were given a second chance through her gift of kidneys and liver. One recipient wrote how excited he was to be free of dialysis so he could visit his grandchildren and enjoy gardening again. That experience inspired Ashley’s elderly grandmother to arrange for her body to be gifted to a medical college. Ashley’s legacy is one of generosity, enduring hope and resilience. Scott was one of eight children. He had a passion for Harley Davidson Motorcycles, antique vehicles, John Deere tractors, and guns. He loved his white German Shepherd, Koda.

Scott was a loving son and bother. He had a very generous and loving heart. He would do anything for anyone.

We are so proud of Scott for donating his organs and tissues to those in need.

We love and miss him so much. I miss his phone calls, his many visits, his quick wit. He was so loving.

One lung recipient was Mona. His kidneys, lungs, heart, and liver were placed, but his liver recipient’s transplant was not successful.
