Kara Beth Somers

We honor your life, your love, and the gift you gave others. Upon birth, Kara was immediately known as "Smiley”. Later, she developed an infectious laugh and glowing spirit that left an imprint on everyone she met. Kara was a very giving and non-judgmental person, who became everyone's "best friend”. Without a doubt, she is looking down on her recipients with a warm smile and much love for their families. She is proud that her own family has forged lifelong friendships with the recipients and their loved ones. Many have been blessed by her kind spirit of giving. Kara was fond of the beautiful peacock, and we now "see" her in the oddest of places! She would want everyone to know that her favorite scripture is Jer 29:11 – "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." The name Kara means "beloved”, and she certainly was!

Kara is a hero who left a life-saving legacy through organ, eye and tissue donation.
