Ashley Ronsheim

Ashley laughed easily and journeyed through life with a smile. During her 10-year struggle with addiction, Ashley remained a loyal friend, compassionate listener and cheerleader for those she loved. Ashley was always on the lookout for opportunities to be of help. At 16, her thoughtful nature compelled her to sign up to be an organ donor. At 32, she fulfilled that wish, and three others were given a second chance through her gift of kidneys and liver. One recipient wrote how excited he was to be free of dialysis so he could visit his grandchildren and enjoy gardening again. That experience inspired Ashley’s elderly grandmother to arrange for her body to be gifted to a medical college. Ashley’s legacy is one of generosity, enduring hope and resilience. Like a smile that spreads from one to another, the story of an organ donor has no final chapter.
